Registered Nurses
RNs are medical professionals that make up most of the workforce population in hospitals. This is because their training and responsibilities are diverse, which may also vary based on the nature of business of the facility they are working in. They are qualified to offer health monitoring and treatment services and keep detailed records of health changes, treatment and medication schedules, and more. They can operate health monitors and supervise other care professionals in the team.
Certified Nurses Assistants
A Certified Nurses Assistant works under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN) or licensed practical nurse (LPN) on the front line of patient care. They should have phenomenal communication skills since it's their job to bring all patient concerns and issues to their supervisor. CNAs work with patients of all ages and abilities.
Licensed Practical Nurses
Licensed Practical Nurses are qualified to provide basic health care. They work under the supervision of a registered nurse and can be trusted to offer clients daily living assistance. Their main role is to ensure that patients are kept safe and comfortable and do so while upholding their sense of dignity and independence. LPNs may also interview patients about their health history and prepare specimens subject to laboratory testing. They may also manage catheters and check patients’ vital signs.
Respiratory Therapists
A respiratory therapist is a specialized healthcare practitioner trained in critical care and cardio-pulmonary medicine in order to work therapeutically with people who have acute critical conditions, cardiac and pulmonary disease. They work under the direction of doctors and treat a range of patients, from premature infants whose lungs are not fully developed to elderly people with lung disease. They give patients oxygen, manage ventilators, and administer drugs to the lungs, in addition to other responsibilities delegated to them within their scope.
Certified Medication Tech
The overall purpose of the Certified Medication Technician (CMT) position is to administer oral and topical medications to residents. This individual must perform these tasks as ordered by a physician, under the supervision of a licensed nurse, and in accordance with state and federal rules and regulations.
