– Help mobilize and eliminate secretions produced in the respiratory tract. – Encourage the pulmonary secretions to drain passively towards the main bronchi and trachea. – Teach the patient and family the positions of postural drainage.

– Pillows. – Stethoscope.

– Disposable paper towelettes. – Waste bag. – Nursing records.
